WHAT IS THE SPF OF YOUR BB CREAM?

The BB Cream is mixed at the max ratio of zinc oxide (22%) so if it was rated, it’d have the highest rating possible. The FDA changed its regulations in 2021 and has now listed zinc oxide as GRASE (Generally Recognized as Safe & Effective) and allows zinc to be used in ratios up to 25%.

WHAT IS THE SPF OF YOUR ZINC OXIDE LIP BALM?

The zinc oxide lip balm is mixed at the max ratio of zinc oxide, which is 22%. If it was rated, it’d have the maximum spf which would be a 35+.
In the Care Act of 2021, the FDA classified zinc oxide as GRASE (Generally Recognized As Safe & Effective) and allows zinc oxide in ratios up to 25%. Because of the classification and because we don’t use chemical sunscreens (like oxybenzone), we do not need to submit it for approval or rating.

HOW CAN I GET COLOR MATCHED?

The second photo in the BB Cream listing should show customers and their corresponding shades. If that doesn’t help, a photo of you in natural daylight (outside is best) with no filters will best help guide us in a recommendation.

Because the Organic BB Cream is 100% free from iron oxides/micas, it won’t “color” your skin like conventional makeup. The coloring is organic and more to offset the whiteness of the zinc. Because of this, many times, it's personal preference wether you want to go lighter or darker.

HOW MUCH PRODUCT SHOULD I USE?

Because our products are completely waterless, a little goes a long way! Start with one drop for our liquids/serums or a watermelon seed size for our solids. It's easier to add more than it is to take away. You can leave a little water on your skin to help the product spread and to lock in moisture. Be sure not to get water in your product.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE MINERAL FOUNDATION AND THE ORGANIC FACE POWDER?

The Organic Face Powder is 100% free from iron oxides and micas. It’ll give a very natural coverage look—almost like a translucent powder. It’s great for oily skin, sweating or high humidity areas.

The Mineral Foundation is more like conventional makeup as it contains iron oxides and micas. It’ll give a more full coverage look and is light reflecting so perfect for photos.

DO YOU HAVE SAMPLE SIZES?

Because we ship 100% plastic free and due to the carbon footprint, our travel sizes also double as our sample sizes. If you need help choosing a color, please contact us. We always recommend to start with our travel size.

HOW LONG WILL THESE PRODUCTS LAST?

Our travel sizes should last approximately 6-8 weeks with every day use. Our full size products should last approximately one year.

WHAT IS THE SHELF LIFE?

As long as our products are used with clean fingers on clean skin and stored out of direct sun and extreme heat, they should last at least one year from date of purchase.

WHAT DO YOU USE FOR PRESERVATIVES?

Because we don’t use water (our products are completely waterless/anhydrous), and we very carefully choose shelf stable oils, we don’t have to use artificial or synthetic preservatives. Products that contain water will have a much shorter shelf life than waterless products, because water breeds life!

We package our containers mostly in amber glass (or tins/parboard; ie, non-see thru) and always recommend to only use it with clean fingers on clean skin.

Our ingredients are carefully chosen, like beeswax, whose antimicrobial activity has been documented in European and Asian holistic remedies for centuries. It was found that beeswax is effective against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria as well as fungi. We also use other ingredients like olive oil and shea butter (shea butter has copious amounts of vitamin E naturally). We also test our products for microbial growth and stability.
